After leaving school, I studied a BA in fine arts at ‘The University of central Lancashire, Preston’. I left in 1992. Between 1992 and 1995, I worked as a freelance artist, selling my works through the M&S gallery in Preston and also through advertising locally. I also worked at the M&S gallery in a part-time capacity until it closed in 1995. During this time I was working in a realist style but I  was already using photography extensively as a tool for gathering information.

Between 1995 and 1998, I was employed outside of the art profession, though I continued to work steadily at developing my current style, I felt that I could better do this in a more measured fashion without the pressure of needing to produce works to survive. This regular income also afforded me the opportunity to travel. Extensively in Europe and also to New York. It was during this time that I strived to develop towards a  photorealistic style.

In 1998 I returned to the role of the artist full-time since then I have been working on two series of paintings, both of which I present with this website.  Since 2000 my work has been available through my website and in 2001, I began to show and sell my work through the B Wilker Gallery in Tennessee, USA.

In January 2004 I began to show with the Plus one plus two galleries, who took my work to the London Art Fair and now represent me in the United Kingdom.
